Personal and Professional Growth
Personal and Professional Growth
Inclusive Excellence (IE) at NC State is committed to building a community of faculty and advisors aware of barriers to student success and engaged in changing their teaching and mentoring to create inclusive learning and research environments. We welcome administrators and staff to join us as we extend our conversations beyond the classroom and research lab, into policies and procedures and institutional structures.
The IE@NC State Initiative is bringing nationally-recognized organizations to campus to supplement training opportunities already available. We also offer annual 2-day IE Scholars Workshops in which faculty explore topics related to systemic oppression and inclusivity while applying what they learn to change how they teach their courses. Those interested in developing course-based research experiences (CREs) can extend their workshop to a third day to focus specifically on how to develop or adapt their course(s) to include mentored undergraduate research experience.
Over 500 faculty, staff, administrators and graduate students have participated in one or more of our offerings, committing more than 2500 hours.
